Human beings have learned to make use of glass for thousands of years, but for more than 1000 years, the development of building glass materials has been relatively slow. With the development of modern science and technology and glass technology and the improvement of people's living standard, the building glass function is no longer simply to meet the lighting requirements, but can adjust light, heat insulation, safety (anti-theft, bullet proof, fire prevention, anti radiation, electromagnetic interference, etc.) Art Deco features. With the continuous development of demand, the molding and processing methods of glass have also developed new. Now, new technologies such as interlayer, toughening, ion exchange, glaze decoration, chemical thermal decomposition and cathode sputtering have been developed, making the amount of glass in building rapidly increase, and become the third largest building material after cement and steel.

Varieties of Architectural glass

The main type of building glass (architectural glass) is flat glass, which has the advantages of crystal clear, smooth, light transmitting, sound insulation, heat preservation, abrasion resistance, climate change and material stability. It is made of quartz sand, sandstone or quartzite, limestone, feldspar, dolomite and soda ash as main raw materials, through crushing, sieving, batching, high temperature melting, forming, annealing, cooling, processing and other processes.

1, Plate glass

Window glass

Flat glass or flat glass windows or glass lenses, referred to as glass, without flat glass grinding. It is mainly used for building doors and windows, walls and outdoor decoration. It plays the role of light transmission, heat insulation, sound insulation, windbreak and protection. It can also be used for store counters, windows, and doors and windows for some transportation vehicles (cars, ships, etc.). The thickness of flat glass used for windows is generally 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6mm five, of which 2 to 3mm thick, commonly used in civil buildings, 4 to 6mm thick, is mainly used for industrial and high-rise buildings.

Polished glass

Polished glass is called mirror glass or white glass. It is polished and polished plate glass. It is divided into two kinds: one side polishing and two sided polishing. The glass polishing is to eliminate glass containing glass defects. The surface of polished glass is smooth and glossy. No distortion is observed or reflected from any direction. Its thickness is generally 5 to 6mm, and the size can be made according to needs. Used to install windows and doors, windows or senior large mirror.

Grind glass

Frosted glass, also known as ground glass, is made by mechanical sand blasting, manual grinding or hydrofluoric acid solution. The surface of the glass is rough, which makes the light diffuse, and has the characteristics of light transmittance and no perspective, and makes the light soft in the room. It is often used in toilets, bathrooms, toilets, offices, corridors, etc., and can also be used as a blackboard.

Coloured glass

Colored glass is also called color glass, which is divided into two kinds, transparent and opaque. The glass has the advantages of corrosion resistance, anti scouring, easy cleaning and so on, and can be spelled into various patterns and patterns. It is suitable for doors and windows, inside and outside wall surface and light area with special requirements for light.

Painted glass

Painted glass is a kind of high grade decorative glass products widely used. The screen painting can be copied to the original painting realistically on the glass, it is not affected by the thickness of the glass, size restrictions, can make all kinds of transparency on flat glass colors and patterns, and paint film adhesion strong, good durability, scrub, easy to clean. The stained glass can be used for family, office buildings, shopping malls and entertainment sites inside and outside doors and windows, curtain wall, ceiling chandeliers, light boxes, wall decorations, furniture, screens, the use of different patterns and images to achieve high artistic atmosphere of decorative effect.

Grating glass

Grating glass also called laser glass, is based on glass substrate by laser, laser surface micro carved decoration materials processing form, is the application of modern high-tech dimming principle by laser holography, will be integrated into the characteristics of photography art and sculpture, the glass showing a three-dimensional image in the condition of white light resplendent with variegated coloration. The grating glass is according to different needs, the use of computer design, laser surface treatment, in a variety of colors, graphics and color transformation, the formation of physical diffraction light and holographic grating or other grating on glass, concave and convex part formed four corresponding distribution or scattering distribution, different texture and space sense lens with different elevation the light source color and add into the glass itself, resulting in numerous small lens forming multiple refraction prism, resulting in changing color and graphics, with high ornamental value and decorative art. Raster glass is excellent in impact resistance, skid resistance and corrosion resistance. It is suitable for decoration in the hall, inside and outside walls, facade signs, billboards, ceiling, screens, doors and windows, etc.

Decorative mirror

The decorative mirror is a necessary material for interior decoration. Can reflect people and scenery, expand the indoor field of vision and space, increase the brightness of the interior. High quality floatable flat glass and vacuum coated or silver plated mirror can be used. The decoration of a hall, a pillar, a wall, a ceiling and so on, which can be used in buildings (especially in narrow space).

2,Patterned glass

Embossed glass, also known as patterned glass or knurled glass, is made of colorless or colored glass liquid, and is patterned by continuous rolling of patterned rollers. The characteristics of embossed glass are transmittance (transmittance 60% to 70%), and no perspective. The surface concave and convex patterns not only diffuse, soften the light, but also have high decoration. A pattern in the embossed glass, aerosol spraying or by vacuum coating, color coating, with good heat reflection ability, three-dimensional sense of the rich, give a person a kind of elegant and bright feeling, if properly equipped with lighting, better decorative effect. When applying, the pattern faces the inside of the room, and the perspective should take into account the shape of the pattern. The embossed glass is suitable for interior decoration and separation of indoor occasions with different requirements for perspective. It can be used for processing screens, lamps and other crafts and daily necessities.

3,Safe glass

Tempered glass

The tempered glass is made by heating the flat glass to the softening temperature, cooling it rapidly or using chemical method for ion exchange. This leads to the formation of pressure layer on the surface of the glass, which is 5~6 times higher than that of ordinary glass, and the impact strength is raised about 3 times, and the toughness is raised about 5 times. When the tempered glass is broken, it does not form the sharp edges and corners, so it does not hurt. Toughened glass can not be cut and processed according to requirements. It can be made into polished tempered glass and heat absorbing toughened glass for building doors and windows, partitions, public places and other anti vibration and anti-collision parts. The curved toughened glass is mainly used for the doors and windows of large public buildings, the skylight of industrial buildings and the window glass.

Sandwich glass

Laminated glass is a flat or curved composite glass made of two or more sheet glass with transparent plastic sheets which are bonded by hot pressing. The raw glass can be made of glassy glass, float glass, colored glass, endothermic glass, heat reflective glass, tempered glass, etc. Laminated glass is characterized by good safety. This is due to the plastic lining made by interfacing, so that glass does not spatter when broken, resulting in radiation cracks and no harm to people. Therefore, the impact strength of laminated glass is much higher than that of ordinary glass. In addition, the properties of light, heat-resistant, dampness and cold resistance are also obtained by using different glass raw materials and interlayer materials. Laminated glass is suitable for doors and windows with high safety requirements, such as doors and windows of high-rise buildings, buildings, basement doors and windows, doors and windows for commercial buildings, display cabinets, window and other anti-collision parts.

Wired glass

The glass is ordinary flat glass heated to red hot softening state, then the preheated metal wire or metal net is pressed into the glass and. Its surface is embossed or polished, transparent or colored. The characteristics of the wire glass is safe, this is because the wire glass has internal stress evenly and impact strength, so when the glass is influenced by external factors (earthquake, storm, fire etc.) and broken, the debris will stick to the metal wire (net), to prevent debris splashing hurt people. In addition, the glass also has the effect of separating fire from fire and spreading fire. Wired glass doors and windows, roof skylights, suitable for industrial plants in large vibration, doors and windows warehouse, libraries need to fire safety, building composite wall and transparent fence etc..

Burglar glass

Anti-theft glass is the special variety of laminated glass, tempered glass, with thick glass, organic glass, polished glass reinforced with resin glue glued into multi-layer glass, and the alarm device in the interlayer embedding wires and sensors connected etc..

4,Special glass

Endothermic glass

Endothermic glass is the introduction of heat absorbing Colorants (ferric oxide, nickel oxide, etc.) into glass liquid, or glass plate coated with heat absorbing colored oxide (tin oxide, antimony oxide, etc.) on glass surface. Endothermic glass is usually gray, tea, blue, green, bronze, pink, gold and other colors. It absorbs less than 70% of the infrared radiation and keeps good transmittance and absorbs part of visible and ultraviolet light. It has the functions of anti glare and UV protection. The heat absorbing glass is suitable for lighting, and need to heat insulation, especially in hot areas, need air-conditioning, avoid the glare of the large public building doors and windows, curtain wall, commodity display window, the windshield of computer room and train, car, ship, also can be made into laminated, hollow glass and other products.

Thermo reflective glass

The heat reflective glass is the coating glass made of gold, silver, aluminum, copper, nickel, ferrochrome and other metal and metal oxide or paste organic thin films on the surface by means of heat, evaporation, chemistry and so on. The heat reflective glass has high heat reflecting ability to the sunlight, low heat transmittance, and the general heat reflectivity is above 30%, up to 60%, and keeps good transmittance. It is the most effective anti sun glass in modern times. The heat reflective glass has unidirectional perspective, and its facing surface has mirror reflection characteristics. It not only has beautiful colors, but also can map the surrounding scenery, so that the buildings and the surrounding landscape can be coordinated. The glass backlight, like transparent glass, can clearly see the outdoor scene. The heat reflective glass is suitable for doors and windows, glass curtain walls, public building halls and various decorative parts of modern high-rise buildings. It is made of double deck hollow glass and air curtain glass curtain wall, which can achieve excellent thermal insulation and energy saving effect.

Photochromic glass

Photochromic glass is a photoreceptor by adding silver halide in glass, or adding molybdenum and tungsten in glass and organic intercalation to obtain photochromic glass. When photochromic glass is irradiated by the sun or other rays, its color will darken with the enhancement of light. After stopping irradiation, it will automatically return to its original color. The coloring and fading of the glass is reversible and durable, and it can automatically adjust the effect of light in the room. Photochromic glass is mainly used to avoid glare and the building doors and windows that need to adjust the intensity of light automatically.
